  • Be of 18 years or over.
  • Be of sound mind.
  • You should be making the Will voluntarily.
  • The Will must be in writing.
  • The Will needs to be witnessed in the presence of two witnesses who are both over the age of 18 and it must be signed by your two witnesses in your presence.

Any changes to your Will must follow the same process in above in signing and witnessing.

Reviewing your Will through Wills and Probate Solicitors in Stourport-on-Severn

Your Will should be reviewed every 5 years or sooner and, in particularly, as soon as there has been any change in circumstances in your life. These may be as a result of the following:-

  • Getting married as this will cancel any Will you have made previously.
  • Getting separated or divorced.
  • Moving house.
  • Having a child.
  • If the Executor who you have named in the Will dies.

The Will cannot be amended after it has been signed and witnessed. A Will can be changed by having a Codicil which is making an official alteration. The Codicil must be signed and witnessed in the same way as witnessing a Will. Please note that there are no limitations as to how many Codicils you can add to a Will.
